How are our courses delivered?

Learning outcomes

IELTS Coach Intermediate

This comprehensive course is for students who are planning to take the IELTS test for academic or general purposes. The course will help participants get the band score they need in the IELTS test by focusing on developing the key language and exams skills required for success.

By the end of the course you will be able to: 

  • respond to typical IELTS writing prompts more effectively 
  • interpret and summarise graphs, tables, charts and processes 
  • write a discursive or opinion essay
  • write more accurately and with a greater range of vocabulary
  • read and interpret the types of academic and general texts used in the IELTS test
  • understand the type of listening texts used in the IELTS test
  • perform with greater confidence in the speaking part of the IELTS test.

Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR): B1, B2

IELTS Coach Upper-intermediate

This course is for students with higher English language competency. The course prepares students who are aiming for higher band scores, ranging from 6.5 and above. The course programme covers both general and academic training. 

During the course, you will learn to:

  • learn how to write a formal letter
  • learn how to describe a range of visual representations of information
  • learn how to write a discursive or opinion essays
  • learn how to read and interpret English texts on a variety of topics
  • learn how to identify specific information and infer points of view in written and spoken texts
  • practise the speaking skills required in the IELTS test
  • learn how to take accurate notes from a spoken text
  • listen to a variety of spoken text types of the kind used in IELTS tests.

By the end of the course you will be able to: 

  • by the end of the course, you will be able to
  • write appropriate text types accurately and in the correct register
  • answer comprehension questions on written texts as found in the IELTS test
  • perform with confidence in the oral component of the test
  • understand English spoken by native speakers at natural speed and answer questions as required by the examination.
