Running throughout July and August, British Council’s summer study camps are a fantastic way for international primary and secondary school students to get to grips with the English language before the new school year begins!
Keep those little minds sharp during summer, mama! Whether your kiddo is a non-native English speaker preparing to enter international school, or you’re just looking to boost reading and writing skills, be sure to check out the summer study camps on offer this summer from British Council.
As the United Kingdom’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities, British Council is truly the world authority in English language teaching. All camp teachers are native English speakers with specialist English as a Foreign Language (EFL) qualifications and substantial teaching experience.
The latest teaching tools and technologies give every student the absolute best learning experience. In addition to tried-and-trusted grammar and vocabulary exercises and speaking, writing and listening tasks, 21st century materials like interactive white boards, iPads and visualisers bring every lesson to life in a way we never go to experience, mamas!
The summer study camp is available to students at both the Primary and Secondary school level, starting from age 6. “Primary English Booster” takes a fun approach to topics like grammar, vocabulary and writing by discussing hobbies, travel, and daily routines. There’s also an aim to developing oral confidence in this fun and supportive environment. In “Secondary English Booster”, students have more of a focus on speaking while also engaging their critical thinking skills through a task-based approach.
Running from 4 July through 26 August, both camps will expose your children to a rich and diverse cultural experience alongside students from all over the world; it’s truly a great opportunity to make a wide range of friends. The camps offer great flexibility, too, with both half-day and full-day options available. They’ll also be taking place at two convenient locations: Tanglin Trust School and British Council’s Toa Payoh Centre. Why not take a free placement test to find out which programme is most suitable for your child, mama?
If you haven’t got your school holiday plans sorted, why not boost your little one’s love of language and reading this summer, mama? There’s no time like the present!
