Nurture your child to become creative thinkers and confident communicators

Our Lower Primary courses are designed to be in line with the syllabus set by the Ministry of Education to help your child succeed in school whilst nurturing a love for learning. Students will focus on literature, helping them to grow as passionate readers and build on their written and communication skills through targeted individual and group practices.

Our highly qualified and passionate teachers provide a safe and nurturing environment for your child to build confidence to enjoy learning new concepts and to express themselves by asking questions and applying their creativity when solving problems so they may be ready to face challenges in-and-out of the classroom.

Primary 1 (7 years old)

This course is designed for Primary 1 students to develop literacy and writing skills.

Our teaching supplements learning in local schools and targets areas that Singaporean students find most challenging. Students will become more confident readers who are able to identify the different features of written texts and infer meanings from context. They will also learn to organise texts, use grammar accurately and produce a variety of different text types in line with the MOE syllabus.

Your child will:

  • explore texts for early comprehension through literature based lessons
  • experiment with MOE text types with supported writing tasks
  • gain the confidence to speak out in communicative classrooms
  • learn to take pride in their work by acting on peer and teacher feedback
  • grow in confidence and improve their pronunciation through weekly 'Show and Tell' sessions.

Reading Development (7 years old)

This course is designed for students who require additional support in building their literacy skills. After two terms, learners will be assimilated into the regular Primary 1 course.

The course includes a thorough review of different phonic combinations and a graded reading book that can be practised at home as well as in class. Every two weeks, a new piece of authentic children’s literature is explored and then used to produce a written text in line with the Primary 1 MOE syllabus.

Your child will:

  • explore texts for early comprehension through engaging literature
  • experiment with MOE text types using supported writing tasks
  • gain the confidence to speak in communicative classrooms
  • learn to take pride in their work through peer and teacher feedback
  • grow in confidence and improve their pronunciation through weekly 'Show and Tell' sessions.

Primary 2 and 3 (8 to 9 years old)

Designed in line with the syllabus set by the Ministry of Education, our Lower Primary courses will help your child succeed in school whilst nurturing a love for learning.

Your child will become:

  • curious about the world they live in - our teachers support students to ask questions about what they learn in class
  • a keen reader and thinker – our courses are based on children’s literature.  Our teachers challenge our learners to think about the themes and characters of the books they borrow every week
  • a confident communicator – we help our students to refine their ideas and articulate them fluently both verbally and in writing
  • a team player – our teachers encourage students to actively contribute to group work in order to successfully complete rigorous classroom tasks
  • a reflective learner – in our supportive classroom environments, students see error not as failure but the road to improvement and a vital stepping stone to academic success.
