British Council and the National Arts Council renewed their Memorandum of Understanding on 19 June 2017,committing to greater collaboration between Singapore and the U.K. The renewal follows two years of ongoing collaboration between the organisations. 

The MOU is testament to the strong cultural ties between the two countries and maps out a clear framework to develop a more inclusive and prosperous cultural sector in Singapore.

The MOU will cover the following areas, such as: 

  • Arts and inclusive initiatives around ageing and disability, demonstrating how the arts can enrich lives and contribute to well-being and artistic development in Singapore
  • Opportunities for cultural skills upgrading via workshops, masterclasses, and UK residencies 
  • Cultural leadership programmes
