The British Council and British High Commission, in collaboration with Warner Bros. Singapore and the Projector were pleased to screen the premier of Peter Jackson's critically-acclaimed WWI documentary They Shall Not Grow Old on 11 December 2018.
Using state of the art technology to restore original archival footage to full colour, Jackson brought to life the people who can best tell this story: the men who were there. Footage was colourised, converted to 3D and transformed with modern production techniques to present never before seen detail.
The film explores the reality of war on the front line; their attitudes to the conflict; how they ate; slept and formed friendships, as well what their lives were like away from the trenches during their periods of downtime.
